Brock – 1, Kyle – 2

Our improvement is becoming pretty visible, though I still can’t do super fancy shit and I seem to be developing a severe asymmetry in skills.  I can only do some stuff in one direction (pivots) or with one foot (snowplows, crossovers).  I wish there were more available time for me to go, but I’m so busy with everything.

Brock – 1, Kyle – 4

Kyle is getting more daring and has taken many a spill this night. I only fell the once, while trying to do hockey stops. I can’t snowplow to save my life, but I can pseudo-hockey stop at low speeds. My pivots are very pretty and I think I am the best backward skater right now, thought that isn’t saying much. Kyle’s all of the sudden can snowplow and hockey stop like a champ and I am jealous.

Brock – 2, Kyle – 1

Kyle had a nice fall after running into a sizeable girl’s immovable ass. My first was a gracefull slide after losing my feet while crossing on a turn. #2 happened after Kyle and Alyssa left. I was practicing pivots near the boards when I got my feet crossed and went down hard into the boards. My shoulder hurts. Also of note was a near fall wherein I crashed into a youth but used him to hold myself up. Then I let him go and he fell. I am awesome.

Brock – 4, Kyle – 2

To be fair, one of mine was because I was so amused watching Kyle hit the ice that I forgot to keep skating and lost it myself.  I got my skates sharpened and baked, so hopefully my feet will hurt less next time.  Though, after I took my skates off, my street shoes felt woefully inadequate in the instep-support department.  Jeez.

I went ice skating with Brianna and some other people last weekend, and I realized that I really want to do it more often. (more…)

I keep mentioning a list of things I was going to buy after I finally got myself out of my credit card money hole.  I figured I’d put it somewhere, especially now that all my money isn’t earmarked for something in particular. (more…)
